Synopsis:

By day, Norberto and Maria live an apparently normal life among friends and neighbours in their working-class neighbourhood. They´ve been married forever, but they´re hiding a secret. At night, as a way to bulk out their meagre pensions, Norberto dresses up as a woman and carries out small-scale robberies, while Maria waits for him in the getaway car. But, to everyone´s shock, the disguise that Norberto uses to hide his identity is, in fact, the means by which he is able to express his true self: Norberta.

After finally confessing to Maria, their long-lasting relationship encounters its biggest hurdle yet. At 65, Norberta´s world comes crashing down, as she fights to win the acceptance of others, and even, at times, of herself. Now, if Norberta is to fulfil her dream of having a very expensive sex-change operation, she will need all her friends to rally around her for the biggest heist of their lives: robbing the bingo hall.
