Synopsis

Matilde Cisneros is an elderly woman who lives with her three daughters in a small village in inland Andalusia in the early 1970s. After Matilde’s death, her daughters set about preparing her wake, even if the whole village is turning their backs on them. Matilde’s inheritance of property and land, and the arrival of an unexpected older brother, make greed and self-interest the focus of the story.
