Lucía is a 10-year-old girl who lives with her mother, her little sister, and her alpaca on Isla del Sol, in the middle of Lake Titicaca, Bolivia. Lucía sees her father leave the lake and from that moment on she faces a new reality in her daily life, tinged by the constant wait for his return. Little by little, Lucía’s mind dilutes the memories of her father, mythologising him and mixing him with the legends told to the tourists who visit her village. Her desire grows so strong that, when the time comes, Lucía does not recognise the man who returns as the father she saw leave. Then she realises that she must fend for herself and, in turn, set off in search of that which drives her to kindle her own light.
