Synopsis:

Jesper, the worst student at the Royal Post Academy, ends up on a frozen island north of the Arctic Circle. There, the sullen inhabitants prove to be people of few words (not to mention letters). On the verge of giving up, Jesper meets teacher Alva and also Klaus, a lonely carpenter who lives in a hut full of the toys he makes. With them, joy returns to Smeerensburg, and a new spirit is born: kinder neighbours, magical traditions and socks hanging on the chimney.
