Workshop on consolidation, collaboration and investment: building an European Audiovisual Ecosystem

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation of Spain, within the framework of the activities of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, has organized a professional conference on various key aspects for the development of a European audiovisual system based on collaboration and economic sustainability with the support of the public and private sectors. The conference will take place on September 24th, 2023, coinciding with the 71st edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival - SSIFF.

The conference will be held at the Press Club of the Kursaal Palace from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The opening session will feature speeches by Ms. Nadia Calviño, First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Mr. Miquel Iceta, Minister of Culture and Sports, Ms. Renate Nikolay, Deputy Director-General of DGCONNECT at the European Commission, and Ms. Cristina Burzako, CEO of Movistar+.

The conference will continue with different panel discussions featuring top professionals from the Spanish and European audiovisual industry, as well as high-level representatives from the state and European public administrations, addressing various aspects of the business, creativity, collaboration between cultural industries, and funding models.
